Privacy Policy

Updated 8 September 2026.

This notice explains how Best Business Tools, the publisher of bestbusinesstools.co.uk, handles information connected with this website. Contact the publisher about privacy or a data request at info@bestbusinesstools.co.uk.

Information you provide

Email: when you contact us, we receive your email address, message and any name, attachments or other details you include. We use these to respond, investigate corrections, handle requests and keep relevant correspondence. Providing information is voluntary, although we need enough detail to answer or locate the matter concerned.

Comments: where commenting is enabled, WordPress collects the comment form fields, such as name, email address, optional website and comment, together with an IP address and browser information used in operating and protecting the comment system. Your approved comment and display name may be public; your email address is not displayed as a comment field. Avoid including private information in a public comment.

Avatars are enabled. A hash derived from a commenter’s email address may be used to request a Gravatar image. See Automattic’s privacy policy for that service.

Website activity and technical information

The website uses WP Statistics and a self-hosted Umami analytics service to understand readership and site performance. Recorded information can include pages and URLs visited, page titles, referring pages, browser and device details, screen size, language, approximate country and visit activity. Outbound-link events can include the destination URL, link text and the article from which the link was followed. URLs can contain query parameters.

Website and supporting technical systems also process connection information, which can include IP addresses, request details and security logs. We use technical information to deliver pages, diagnose faults, protect the site and assess how content is used. These systems should not be treated as a guarantee that browsing is anonymous.

Cookies and external services

If you choose the option to remember your comment details, WordPress can store those details in cookies on your device. You can decline that option and use your browser settings to inspect or delete stored cookies. Browser controls may affect site features and do not necessarily prevent server-side processing.

Some page styling is loaded from Google Fonts. Fetching externally hosted fonts makes a request to Google, which receives connection and request information. See Google’s privacy policy. Google AdSense advertising is not enabled on this site at the date above.

When you follow a link to a software provider, retailer or affiliate network, that service handles your visit under its own privacy and cookie information. A qualifying purchase may be attributed through the provider’s or network’s tracking systems. Read our affiliate disclosure alongside the destination’s notices.

Why we use information

Our purposes are responding to enquiries, publishing and maintaining discussion, operating and securing the website, and understanding its readership. We rely on legitimate interests in running this publishing service for ordinary correspondence, administration, publishing comments, security and audience measurement. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it; where we must retain information to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the relevant basis. Contact us to question or object to a use of your information.

Service providers and international processing

WordPress and our analytics infrastructure run on hosting supplied by Hetzner. We use Cloudflare for domain services and email routing. Messages to the public email address are forwarded to the publisher’s Gmail inbox, so Cloudflare and Google process information needed to deliver and handle those messages.

Google, Cloudflare and other destination services can operate internationally, including outside the UK. Their linked notices describe their processing and transfer arrangements. Contact us if you need information about the arrangements relevant to your interaction with this website.

How long information is kept

Published comments and associated records normally remain with the discussion until removed. Correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle the enquiry and retain an appropriate record of the issue. Technical and analytics records are kept according to operational, security and reporting needs. A request to remove information is assessed against those needs and applicable obligations; removal from a live system may not immediately remove copies in backups.

Your rights and complaints

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion or restricted use, object to processing, or request a portable copy. You can also withdraw consent where it is the basis for processing. Contact info@bestbusinesstools.co.uk with enough detail to identify your request.

You can complain to us about how your information is handled and you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. This notice will be revised when the site’s relevant practices change.
